
The Parliamentary Internet, Communications and Technology Forum (PICTFOR) invite you to attend their upcoming event on Quantum Computing titled ‘The UK as a Quantum Computing Leader: How could quantum computing expand digital capabilities in the next decade and how can the UK ensure that it is world leading?’
The discussion will cover a variety of questions relating to quantum computing, ranging from the UK Quantum Strategy, the impact of quantum computing on the environment and the risks to cyber security. They will also be discussing the capacity for rolling out quantum computing, whether this concerns international supply chains, or the skills of the workforce.
The event will take place on Wednesday 8th of March, between 11:00 and 12:00.
The event will be chaired by PICTFOR’s Co-Chair, Darren Jones MP, who is also chair of the BEIS Select Committee. Additionally, he is the chair of a global network of politicians engaged in the regulation of artificial intelligence, co-chairs the Parliamentary Commission on Technology Ethics and recently served on the bill committee for the Data Protection Act 2018.
Speakers include Professor Myungshik Kim, Chair in Theoretical Quantum Information Sciences at Imperial College London; Maria Cuevas Ramirez, Networks Research Director at BT; Professor Andrew Green, Chair of Condensed Matter Physics at UCL and Dr. Enrique Sánchez Bautista, Head of Policy, Brussels Office at the European Physical Society.
