The academic strategy project has three initial areas of focus: 1. Materials for Quantum Technologies; 2. Quantum Internet; 3. Applications of Quantum Computing.
Imperial is also the lead institution, with The University of Manchester, in a new EPSRC-funded UK Network in Materials for Quantum Technologies (M4QN). The aim of M4QN is to connect the UK-wide materials community with the NQTP.
The Manager will manage both the QuEST academic strategy project and M4QN and will work with the Centre Director and Network Principal Investigator, engaging with academics from across Imperial and the UK, coordinating and supporting the organisation of strategic meetings, events and other activities that deliver the aims of the Centre and the Network. Management of the Network will be carried out in close partnership with the Network Co-Investigator and shared with a second Network Manager at The University of Manchester. You will also engage proactively with external partners including companies and the major investments under the NQTP.
The Manager will be responsible for designated aspects of the day to day running of the Centre and Network including communications; visitor liaison and event logistics; Network website and social media management; strategic development; financial forecasting, monitoring and reporting; organisation of public engagement and outreach activities; and preparing periodic activity reports.
